Centrally in 'Houtemveld', a 1956s large-scale social housing development in rural Houtem (Vilvoorde), an ensemble of 6 new social social housing blocks has been built. With simple architectural means and special attention for both exterior and interior design and material use, A2D realized a high quality sustainable project full of character. Three green public spaces, each with its own multifunctional use, nature, and relationship with the housing volumes, form a connecting link with the broader urban context.
