This project concerns the first phase of the construction of a sattelite brewery with associated lanscaping and infrastructure works for the Brewery Lindemans in Ruisbroek (Sint-Pieters-Leeuw).
The design is divided into two main volumes - a production hall and a publicly accessible brewing hall. The brewing hall will be the 'face' of the brewery and will have a very specific architectural design. The geometry of the façade is an indirect reference to the rounding of the silos used in the storage and production of beer. The façade is a succession of certical concave curved brick elements containing large openings that serve as windows or terraces. These elements stand on a pedestal of architectural concrete.
As a reference to the old breweries from the 19th century and in connection with various existing factory buildings in the area, it was decided to work with a nuanced red/brown brick. This 'classic' brick is processed in a modern geometry, creating a tension between the old and the new. The production hall, finished in prefabricated concrete sandwich panels, has a rather neutral appearance. A third element, the wall surrounding the silo and tank park, will be architecturally incorporated into the formal language of the brewery hall. Concave brick façade elements in a red/brown nuanced brick with concrete plinth and cover stone.
The most visible tanks, deliberately finished in a high-quality material, stainless steel, will be part of the 'face' of the brewery hall.
